Packing your suitcase for your vacation to Puerto Vallarta can be a little bit difficult task. Not knowing what you need and in what quantity; especially if it is the first time you travel to the city.

Do not worry, in this article we will guide you with the items you can bring with you to this beautiful port and have your suitcase ready. Packing the perfect suitcase on your vacation to Vallarta there are two big factors to consider: the season of the year and your means of transportation.

Season or dates

Most of the year in the port has or hot or hotter weather… The places where you can feel more these temperatures are near the beaches and hills. If you come in warm season, from May to October, it is important to pack:

  • Light clothing; tank tops, skirts, shorts, short sleeve shirts and beachwear.
  • Sandals, flats or tennis.
  • Sunscreen.
  • Sunglasses.
  • Umbrellas and wide hats. In the hot season it also rains in Puerto Vallarta, so the umbrella will serve you for rain and sun.
  • Refillable bottles for drinking water. Take care of the planet and reuse!
  • Cloth to clean your sweating.

On the other hand, in the cold season from November to February, you need to pack:

  • Sweaters, long sleeve shirts.
  • Beachwear we recommend swimsuits that have long sleeves. Like those used by surfers.
  • Pants.
  • Tennis and booties.
  • Cold medicine.
  • Ointment for dry lips.

It is not necessary to bring gloves, scarves or thermal clothing. The lowest temperature is just 16 C. degrees. We only recommend sheltering babies and children.

It also influences the way you pack your suitcase if you come by bus or plane. In these transports the space for your suitcase is usually smaller. On airplanes it can be even more expensive to carry too much luggage (extra charges). On the other hand, if you come by private car you will have the opportunity to pack more luggage. In any of these means of transport you can bring the following items:

  • Your medical card For any emergency.
  • Personal hygiene items.
  • Charger adapter from 3 points to 2 points.
  • Water cell phone case.
  • Photographic camera.
  • Beach items; molds for sandcastles, inflatables, umbrellas, etc.
  • Repellent of mosquitoes and other insects.
  • Antibacterial gel.

In addition, for international tourists it is very important to have:

  • Cash in national currency, which are Mexican pesos (MXN), or US dollars (USD).
  • Passport or official identification.

We leave the rest of the most common travel objects, such as makeup, creams, perfumes, buggies, towels, shampoo and others for your consideration.
